Coping with Grief: Targeted Approaches to Managing Grief and Loss

Coping with Grief is an 8-session support group designed to provide both connection and practical strategies for navigating grief after the loss of a loved one. Together, participants will build skills to better manage grief while finding comfort in a supportive community.

What the Group Covers:

  • Tackling avoidance and re-engaging in life

  • Building and strengthening social support

  • Coping with anniversaries, reminders, and milestones

  • Sharing experiences in a safe, compassionate environment

Group Details:

  • Dates: October 20 – December 8, 2025

  • When: Mondays, 12:00 – 1:00 pm (Pacific Time)

  • Format: Virtual group sessions (secure online platform)

  • Eligibility: Open to adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one (at least 3 months prior to the group start date). Loss may include a family member, spouse, friend, or other loved one.

  • Cost: $400 for 8 sessions (OON superbill available upon request)

  • Facilitator: Drs. Alice Verstaen and Natalia Garcia

  • This group is open to residents of Washington State.
